For Nirvana, the primary focus of the Screener+ task is on monitoring burglar alarms and preventing theft in retail spaces. The task involves active surveillance, requiring executives to assess and escalate alerts for unauthorized activity within store premises. Since this task aims to prevent loss of assets and ensure store security, executives must be vigilant and responsive.
Begin by logging into the Dragonfruit platform and selecting “Nirvana” as the organization to monitor.
Watch the alert dashboard for notifications indicating suspicious activity. Alerts at Nirvana are specifically triggered by burglary or unauthorized access indicators.
When an alert appears, a video clip from the relevant camera feed will accompany it, providing a view of the situation that needs to be assessed.
Employee: Typically, employees appear relaxed and composed, as if they belong on-site. They may also be seen unlocking doors or performing tasks that indicate authorized access.
Action: Ignore the alert and snooze it.
Customer: Customers generally look relaxed and are typically found near the counter or visibly seeking assistance from an employee. They don’t display avoidance or signs of suspicious activity.
Action: Ignore the alert and snooze it.
Intruder: Signs of an intruder include forced entry (broken glass or doors), hurried movements, and behavior such as grabbing merchandise and attempting a quick exit. Intruders may also be wearing masks or face coverings. They might also loiter outside for an extended period before entering.
Action: Raise the alert immediately, as this indicates a security breach.
Suspicious Vehicle: Suspicious vehicles may display erratic driving behavior, loiter near the facility, or park with individuals exiting the vehicle to approach the building hurriedly.
Action: Raise the alert immediately, as this could signify a potential threat.
Dumpster Diving or Similar Activity: Individuals involved in dumpster diving or sifting through trash may seem out of place but generally do not pose an immediate threat.
Action: Note the incident for records, but do not raise an alert unless other suspicious behaviors are observed.
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Raising Alerts at Nirvana Stores
When an intrusion alert is detected for Nirvana locations, follow these steps to promptly notify the appropriate management staff. Use the provided contact script and make calls in the designated order. Each call should be made through Skype.
When raising an alert, use the following script:
“Hello, this is Dragonfruit AI. We are calling to inform you of an intrusion alert we have received for this location. Kindly review your security footage and take further action as required.”
Call the General Manager (GM) first using the provided contact information.
If the GM is unavailable, call the Assistant Store Manager (ASM).
If both GM and ASM are unavailable, leave a voice message and make a final attempt to reach the GM.
Ensure that each call is logged with the time and status (answered, unavailable, voicemail, etc.) for record-keeping and accountability.
