Estimation

The Estimation Task is a crucial process for ensuring accurate wait time information for rides at various SeaWorld parks. Executives use the Dragonfruit AI platform to monitor live camera feeds from selected parks, such as SeaWorld Orlando (SWO) , Busch Gardens Tampa (BGT) etc. to estimate ride wait times. Each park has multiple rides, with cameras positioned at entry, exit, and load zones.

By analyzing the number of people in line and leveraging additional insights like ride occupancy and average visit duration, executives estimate the wait time in increments of 5 minutes (ranging from 5 to 40 minutes). To ensure consistency, each ride has a detailed calibration document that executives must review and understand before performing the task.

This task is performed every 15 minutes to keep the wait times updated in real-time, and all estimated times are logged in both the platform and an internal tracking sheet for record-keeping and further analysis.
