Performing the task
Objective
Ensure the successful configuration and verification of the MAC Mini and network setup during engineering calls with camera installers at store locations. This involves monitoring and troubleshooting key elements like JAMF, IP configurations, and VLAN settings.
Steps to Perform the Task
Step 1 : Preparation
Note the store time and store number from the provided details.
Join the Zoom meeting at the scheduled IST time, using the breakout room link associated with the engineering team member (e.g., Mr. Benjamin, Khanh).
Step 2 : Observation
Observe the conversation between the engineering team and the installer during the call.
Pay close attention when the MAC Mini is discussed.
Step 3 : MAC Mini Verification
Ask for the last 4 digits of the MAC Mini serial number and cross-check it with the Dragonfruit Fusion Document (DF Fusion Doc).
Once the MAC Mini is powered on, check its serial number in the DF App and click "Check Status."
Step 4: Critical Test Cases
Confirm that JAMF is managed and properly set up.
Verify "Check-in" status and ensure the IP address follows the default format (192.168). If incorrectly plugged, alternate stats may show up.
Troubleshooting:
If JAMF fails:
Begin the troubleshooting process by restarting the MAC Mini (refresh the page).
Once the IP address is obtained, inform the engineering team.
If JAMF continues to fail, advise the engineering team to restart the MAC Mini.
Double-Check:
Verify store number and serial number twice to ensure accuracy.
Advanced Troubleshooting (If JAMF Still Fails):
Inform the engineering team to:
Confirm proper VLAN configuration.
Check the port lights on the Manager Switch and Camera Switch.
Step 5 : Final Steps
Notify the CSE Team about the issue and involve them in the Zoom call (e.g., Mr. Vishal Goel, Mr. James) to resolve JAMF-related problems.
